Description

Grapes from Quinta do Panascal are used to make Fonsecas vintage port, and the investments made here over the last three decades are now apparent in the rich dense and powerfully fruity wines this property is now producing. The winemakers tasting notes for this 2007 vintage read as follows.- Impenetrable, inky black colour with purple highlights. As would be expected from Fonseca, the nose is dominated by a masively potent and concentrated fruitiness, packed with dense blackcurrant and blackberry aromas along with coffee, exotic woods and hints of wild herbs and mint. The palate is rich and luscious, with thick velvety and wonderfully well integrated tannins enveloped in succulent jammy fruits and rich dark chocolate flavours.
