Beronia Tempranillo is a single-variety red wine produced from vines cultivated on limestone-clay soils close to the bodega, certified by the Rioja Denomination of Origin Authority, it is produced in limited quantities. This wine has spent 5 months in oak barrel, it is cherry-red in colour and the bouquet offers aromas of fruits, liquorice and touches of coffee, smoky wood and has a palate which is complex and smooth. The reserva is drinking particularly well at the moment having spent 2 years in oak before release. The Gran reserve is a blend of Tempranillo: 87%. Graciano: 5%. Mazuelo: 8%. and is aged in French and American oak barrels for a minimum of 2-3 years with further bottle aging taking place before release. An excellent mature Rioja at a very sensible price.
