Calvados has been produced for centuries in the Calvados regions of Northern France, from apples, blending sometimes as many as 100 varieties in a quest for the perfect flavour. Calvados can be taken as an aperitif, between courses, or as a digestif with coffee. They are graded by age, with high quality calvados usually having parts of a much greater age than is mentioned.
