Mudhouse Winery - Marlborough

Named after a mud block house that was built in the founding vineyard, the Mud House Wine Company produced its first wines in 1996, growing from 300 cases to over 90,000 today. Under the ownership of four New Zealand families, Mud House had a purpose built winery constructed in 2005 at their Riverlands Estate. The winery is capable of processing over 2,500 tonnes of grapes. This purpose built winery is capable of handling the fruit as quickly and efficiently as possible ensuring that the company continues to produce the best possible wines. All the fruit goes through a must chiller before being pressed, which means that whatever time of day or night the grapes are harvested, the juice will go into the tank at below 4C. All the grapes are processed within 30 minutes of leaving the vineyard, ensuring there is no deterioration before they are crushed.
