The vineyards are located on the hills surrounding Marsala, Salemi and Mazara del Vallo, in the Western part of Sicily. They are situated in an ideal position at 400 meters above the sea level. The soil is basically clay with an extremely good water retention. This situation allows to obtain products with great bouquets and aromas even in a land like Sicily which is very dry for the most of the year. Vines are planted espalier and they are kept shorter than usual in order to protect them against the wind.
