The Coto de Imaz wines are produced from 100% Tempranillo, exclusively from the Alta district. The wines follow the same vinification techniques as the Crianza up until the maturation stage. The Reserva is then aged in 100% new American oak casks for 14 to 16 months followed by at least two years ageing in bottle. Fuller and spicier than the Crianza, the Reserva has a wider range of fruity flavours intertwined with smoky and vanilla nuances from the oak.
