Twenty nine-year old un-grafted Mendoza clone Chardonnay vines have produced a wine of intensely concentrated flavours and aromas. Un-fined juice with full solids underwent a `wild fermentation` in French oak barriques to create a wine of structure and complexity.
This stunning wine has been crafted from ungrafted 30 year old Mendoza vines grown on clay and limestone rich soils. It shows complex aromas of lemon, grapefruit, hazelnuts and freshly baked bread in the glass together with rich aromas of French oak. The palate is rich and beautifully balanced and lingers with flavours of homemade marmalade, orange peel, nuts and vanilla. This wine will reward patient cellaring. Cellar with the confidence of screwcap.
