The significant proportion of Verzenay in this edition’s blend expresses the characteristics of the Pinot Noir from this terroir : depth, elegance and tension. Pinot Noir from other villages — Avenay and Tauxières — were added and act in aromatic synergy to bring further complexity to the blend. 2016 was particularly favourable to Pinots Noirs form the Montagne de Reims, in particular at the Verzenay vineyard. The grapes’ natural maturity was 10.6 degrees there, whereas the average in Champagne settled at 9.8, thus giving the wine generosity and delicacy. The reserve wines contribute to the wine’s exceptional aromatic intensity, especially the Pinots Noirs aged in magnums for almost 10 years.
In the glass, this VZ16 edition opens with fruity notes of apple, rhubarb, quince and mirabelle plum. The rich, complex nose then develops towards hazelnut aromas. On the palate, a wonderful creamy effervescence yields to a delectable and expressive quality. Exotic flavours, with brioche and hints of stewed fruit, precede a saline finish.
Bollinger PN VZ16 is a 100% Pinot Noir focused blend with the majority of the fruit coming from Grand Cru vineyards in Verzenay. Famed for its Pinot Noir, there is no surprise that Bollinger’s signature rich, open style shines through and this is a wonderful example of the ‘Burgundy-vinosity’ character of the House. The high proportion of Verzenay in the blend showcases the charm of Pinot Noir from this unique terroir; depth, elegance, energy and tension, combine with a beautiful saline finish. The wonderful smoky, nutty and caramel tones imparted by Bollinger’s distinct foudre ageing are already present and the reserve wines, aged for 10 years en magnum, add to its exceptional aromatic intensity.

Our delivery charges are based on the number of bottles in your order, and each case can hold 12 x 75cl bottles as shown in the table below smaller and larger bottles are pro rata. We do not have a minimum order requirement.
Subject to stock availability and successful payment authorisation, we aim to despatch your order the next working day after you place your order. Our Standard Delivery is a next day service for most of the mainland UK from date of despatch, and The Highlands and Islands areas are on a 2-3 day service normally. As most orders are delivered via our chosen courier company, we cannot offer guaranteed delivery times, however the vast majority of orders placed arrive on the next working day. During busy periods these delivery times may extend. IF YOUR ORDER IS TIME CRITICAL PLEASE RING THE OFFICE TO GET MORE UP TO DATE INFORMATION ON CURRENT DELIVERY TIME SCALES, AND WE WILL DO OUR BEST TO MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS, BUT PLEASE NOTE WE ARE COURIER DEPENDENT ONCE THE ORDER LEAVES US, SO WE CANNOT ABSOLUTELY GUARANTEE A DELIVERY DATE.
We are able to hold your order if you would like to organise a day when you are going to be in, to do this just indicate it in the notes box provided in the delivery area of the order process. Please add any other specific delivery requirements in the same box and we will do our best to ensure they are followed, or alternatively call us on 01472 852118 and we will do our best to help you. Our chosen Couriers deliver Monday to Friday between 8.00 am & 6.00 pm.
Please note it is not possible to specify a timed delivery, without incurring additional delivery charges, if this something you require please contact us to discuss your requirements.
Please note that all our consignments normally REQUIRE A SIGNATURE on receipt. We will NOT be able to leave your order without someone taking the order in, we cannot leave your order unattended in a porch or garage etc., unless we get written confirmation from you that this is acceptable and that you will take full responsibilty if the parcel goes missing. However we are able to leave it with a neighbour or at an alternative address where they can take the goods in, please indicate this in the box for notes on the delivery page of the order process, if this is a requirement. If no-one answers the door, the address will be carded in the normal manner you should contact the courier or us to get the delivery rescheduled.
Orders under £30 in value will incur a small order £10 carriage charge to standard none surcharged UK delivery areas.
