Domaine Hamelin dates back to 1840 over seven generations with Thierry and his son Charles continue the family run Domaine today. They continue to follow the Chablis wine making traditions handed down over the generations. Today the Vineyards are to be found in three different villages Poinchy, Beines and Lignorelles, with the winery and Vat room situated in Lignorelles.
The knowledge handed down from generation to generation is a harmonious mix of old traditions and modern-day techniques. Their focus, and the main feature of their Chablis wines, is to retain the flavour of the ‘terroir’, and at the same time produce wines that are both generous and charming in style. A well-controlled and thermo-regulated wine making process is essential. With their own bottling facility they are able to control when the wines is bottled at the optimum moment when the wine is at its most expressive.
