Nuit St. George Corton Andre 2010

The bright colour is a very intense cherry-red black. The nose opens with notes of peony and flowers followed by licorice. The nose becomes more powerful and quite intense after some aeration and reveals notes of peppermint and very ripe small fruits of the forest along with subtle notes of vanilla from undergoing ageing in French oak barrels for 18 months.
The first taste is extremely velvety and pleasant with soft ripe tannins. The structure is highlighted by a very long and refreshing finish which indicates this Nuits-Saint-Georges has a great keeping potential of perhaps 10 years or more.
