This Bodegas is a family-run winery in the village of Navarrette, to the south west of Riojas capital, Logrono, in the Rioja Alta. It is on the route of the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela, and in 1366 Pedro the Cruel defeated the Black Prince on this spot.
Antonio senior built the original winery in 1983, but Antonio Junior is now at the helm and he built himself the current state-of-the-art winery in 2001. The house style is somewhere between the original and the modern. All the reds share his trademark ultra fresh, red berry and strawberry fruit, and have just the right balancing tang of lively, aromatic vanilla, which is no doubt the reason for their incredible popularity.
